The Golf Club of Tennessee was established in order to provide dedicated golfers with an excellent course, quality facilities staffed to provide superior service and operated to enable its members to enjoy golf as it should be played; without tee times, delays, or distractions with the availability of quality caddies, in an exceptionally maintained environment of seclusion and exclusivity, amongst members that appreciate and benefit from the traditions and heritage of the game of golf. As you descend the hill on Golf Club Drive, you step into tranquility, where spirits can be renewed and attitudes changed, simply by taking time out for practice or play.
Widely-acclaimed as today's best golf course architect, Tom Fazio fashioned a golfing masterpiece on 317 acres of Tennessee's most beautiful rolling land, in a wonderfully quiet, pastoral setting that is isolated from the busy world and enhanced by the singing of birds, the cascading of waterfalls, and the occasional crossing of a fox or deer. Featuring zoysia tees and fairways and bent grass greens, the 7,144 yard, par 71 course sprawls over nearly twice the acreage of a traditional 18-hole course. Fazio used all of the elements of design excellence - with holes that are both strategic and penal, subtlety difficult yet player friendly, and memorable but not contrived.
The course is complemented by a beautiful and fully-functional 31,000-square foot clubhouse, which includes a five-bedroom suite for use by members and their guests. Native stone, board, and batten construction create a distinctive, yet comfortable ambiance. Large porches overlook the challenging 10th and 18th holes. Members do not have to arrange for a tee time and unhindered play enables a round in under four hours. The use of the Club's well-trained and knowledgeable caddies is encouraged. Ease of "getting a game" receives special attention from staff and members and is another important feature - particularly for new members.
